Just to establish from the offset that this user group is not exclusive to Bloemfontein people and should you consider this user group your PHP home so to speak then so be it.  With regard to the purpose of the user group here are some thoughts:  Create a larger awareness of PHP assisting new developers to get started; Allow PHP developers to collaborate and share knowledge; Provide a forum to field common questions about PHP development.

The Joomla! Southern African Community Portal has been created by some of Southern Africa's biggest Joomla! fans. We have been using Joomla! sites for over 5 years years now, and are actively engaged in teaching and training clients and students, hosting and developing their Joomla! sites. We actively promote the use of Joomla! among Southern Africans, who are - on the whole - relatively ignorant of many open source solutions that can be employed with ease and managed with convenience.
