You have tried to change the toolbar on the survey in edit mode and got this error.  Then when you go back to the survey it takes you to the root directory instead of your survey.  Saving it as a template and including the content gives another error "exception from HRESULT: 0x81070909".  The survey has corrupted.  Delete it and start again and don't change the toolbar settings.

You downloading and Office 2007 document, but instead of a document you get an allitems.zip file full of junk.  This is something that has to be fixed by your IT Department.  They to add the appropriate MIME type to the server, (that’s an internet media type in laymens terms).

When clicking on the Category list, only the first 10 blogs display, the balance don't when clicking on 'Next Page', although they do all display on the main list.  Have not found a solution to this yet, investigating.

You have Office 2003 and you are trying to save a document you have just edited that has "check out" enforced.  Before opening and editing the document, click the dropdown over the document name, and click "Check Out" first.  Make your changes and save the doc back to the server, then check the document back in afterwards.

You are trying to export a list to a spreadsheet and get this error.  A custom date / time column in the list is corrupt.  Change the date / time field to a single line of text, then change it back to a date / time format.  It should sort it out.

Your site freezes and when it opens, the CEWP displays all code instead of your items.  You have tried to insert items
into the web part which don't work, ie: documents, or the web part has become corrupt.  If you have another browser besides Internet Explorer, you can usually open the site in that and

A service pack was applied and the filetype was blocked.  Your IT Administrators need to remove cnt from the blocked file types on Central Admin and the Port 80 web app blocked list.

If you have imported a spreadsheet, it doesn't automatically display on the Quick Launch.  You need to go into View All Site Content, open the applicable list, go to Settings - List Settings - Display on Quick Launch : change to Yes.  If you have restored a list from the Recycle Bin, it also doesn't automatically go back to the Quick Launch, follow same instructions.

You have inserted a link into an email for users to access which goes to a file server with limited access.  You need to grant all the users access to that server.

You have moved a documents from a document library that has lookup fields in the metadata to another site without moving the source lists as well.  Move all the documents back to the master library.  Then move the lookup field list over first.  Then move the documents to the new site, the fields will then populate.

Usually happens with migrated sites, the link did not migrate successfully.  Click on Site Actions - Site Settings - People and Groups.  Copy the URL, then go back to Site Settings and Navigation.  Click on the People and Groups heading and Edit.  Paste the URL and click Save.

Error received when trying to change the Navigation.  If you have Office 2003, go to Office - Help - Detect and Repair - then check the 'Discard my Customised Settings and Restore Default Settings' box.  If you have Office 2007, go to Word - click on the Office button - Word Options - Resources - Diagnose.

You are trying to override a workflow allocated to someone else.  You need to contact the recipient to complete the workflow.  You can only override workflow you created yourself.

One of two things, either you are trying to create a list using Enterprise Features and you are not licensed for it, just use a standard custom list instead. 
Or you are trying to edit a list of sub-folders in datasheet view.  You can't do that, you need to use the dropdowns on each one and edit their names individually.

You are trying to save a list as a template and include the content.  It is too big, (more than 10MB).  Save the list as a template and don't include the content.  Recreate the list on the new site, open both lists in datasheet view, and copy the information from one to the other.

Someone is making changes to a custom list you are trying to edit.  Either close the browser and re-open it, or hit F5 to refresh it.  If you still get the message, just wait a few minutes for the changes to be completed, then try again.

You tried to change something under Navigation and this is the error given when clicking Save.  The Quick Launch has become corrupt, it needs to be fixed in SharePoint Designer.  Contact your IT dept.  All the document libraries need to be unlinked from the Quick Launch, the Documents web link deleted from the navigation page in SharePoint Designer; then all the document libraries need to be relinked to the Quick Launch, (Settings – Document Library Settings – Title, Description, Navigation – Display on Quick Launch – Yes).

Error received when adding items to a list.  Bug in SharePoint.  Add the item and complete the Title field only first.  Go back to the list, edit the item and complete the rest of the fields. If you got this error because you are editing the page layout - don't!  You are using SharePoint Designer to copy and move aspx pages, you are in danger of breaking your site if you don't know what you are doing.

You are trying to copy data from one Issue List to another in datasheet view after saving it as a template.  It is a security and audit feature that does not allow you to override data.  Each item is issued a unique key making the lines read-only.

The setting in the group is ‘allow group members’ to view this only.  You are not in that group so cannot see who is in it.  Get the Site Owner to change the setting to allow ‘everyone’ to view who is a member of the group.  Do this for all groups.

There are compulsory metadata fields on your document library.  You need to edit the properties of the required document and populate the fields before you will be allowed to check it back in.
